Random Events refer to scripted events which have a chance of occurring when certain conditions are satisfied.

In WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition, players may encounter or experience various random events over the duration of their play.

Amethyst Mountain

The following random events may occur during the first episode.

Fishing

Eagles may swoop low over the Lamar River and pluck a fish out of the water. There's a chance they might drop the fish, landing the player an insignificant meal. This event is less common in Amethyst Mountain due to the map being so huge, so it's fairly uncommon and luck-based to witness this.

This addition to the game was a bug which has since been turned into a feature.

Carcasses

Dead wolves may spawn during world generation with no apparent cause of death. Occasionally, scent spores may lead to such wolf carcasses, though it is unclear whether wolves may also die as a result of encounters with dangerous creatures, such as bison or grizzly bears.

Slough Creek

The following random events may occur during the second episode.

Lost Pup

Main article: Lost pups

Occasionally, one or more pups will wander away from the den and become lost.

Sickness

Main article: Diseases

Occasionally, one or more pups will fall sick.

Floods

As the snow begins to thaw and the game transitions into early summer, areas of the river will become wider and deeper with snowmelt, flowing faster and bringing the challenge of wading more frequently through shallow, marshy terrain. These conditions make the creek potentially more hazardous and less desirable as hunting grounds.

As the days pass, the worst of the flooding subsides and rainstorms begin to occur. It is during this season when flooding can render dens uninhabitable and forcing the pack to move elsewhere. A player will know if their den has flooded by their pups' refusal to enter the den when commanded and a notification prompting the player to investigate.

Lost River

The following random events may occur in the non-episodic Lost River (Classic) location.

Fishing

As with Amethyst Mountain's event, eagles may swoop low over large bodies of water. There's a chance they might drop the fish, landing the player an easy albeit insignificant meal. This event is more common in Lost River due to the smaller size of the map.
